Het merendeel van de pati\u00ebnten die in het ziekenhuis worden opgenomen krijgt te maken\u00a0met de 5 volgende complicaties, \u201cde Big Five\u201c:<\/p>\n<p>1. angst<br \/>\n2. stress<br \/>\n3. pijn<br \/>\n4. slaapontregeling<br \/>\n5. delirium, vooral bij pati\u00ebnten ouder dan 65 jaar.<\/p>\n<p>Muziek als Medicijn (MAM) wil muziek als preventieve behandeling inzetten om deze 5 problemen aan te pakken. De complicaties hebben immers een nadelig effect op de gezondheid. Muziek is een goedkope behandeling die geen bijwerkingen kent, duurzaam is, kosten kan besparen en het welzijn van de pati\u00ebnt ten goede komt.<\/p>\n<p>De eerste 4 complicaties komen voor bij het merendeel van de pati\u00ebnten, van baby tot\u00a0oudere. Delier, acute verwardheid, komt voor bij 15-85 % van de pati\u00ebnten ouder dan 65\u00a0jaar. Dit betekent dat een belangrijk deel van de bevolking van jong tot oud geconfronteerd\u00a0wordt met deze problemen. Bij 3-4 miljoen opnames per jaar in Nederland en 6-7 miljoen\u00a0overige bezoeken aan het ziekenhuis betreft het dus een zeer grote groep mensen.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-k2yreqbh-6-fd47c065052e6f69d123a7b57604363d '  ><div class='avia_textblock' ><h3><strong>Het onderzoek<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-k2yreqbh-5-ba91138141a077a2d0f2f005d1858818 '  ><div class='avia_textblock' ><p><strong>Streven naar bewustwording\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>De specialisten zijn zich veelal niet of onvoldoende bewust van deze vijf complicaties bij\u00a0opname van hun pati\u00ebnten: \u201cdie horen er nu eenmaal bij\u201d is vaak de reactie hierop. In geen enkel land is een\u00a0structureel beleid ten aanzien van deze problematiek. Alle 5 complicaties kunnen leiden tot\u00a0andere complicaties. Voor de eerste 4 complicaties kan medicatie worden gegeven die\u00a0echter bijwerkingen heeft. Voor delier bestaat geen behandeling.\u00a0Het Big Five-project wil de ziekenhuiswereld bewust maken van deze 5 complicaties die bij\u00a0bijna alle pati\u00ebnten voorkomen bij opname in het ziekenhuis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Muziek kan complicaties voorkomen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>De Muziek als Medicijn-groep heeft het hoogste wetenschappelijke bewijs gevonden dat\u00a0muziek de eerste drie complicaties kan voorkomen bij chirurgie. Er zijn aanwijzingen dat\u00a0met muziek ook slaapontregeling en delier kunnen worden voorkomen.
